Bachelor of Commerce from Monash University, Melbourne.
Background & Interests
When it came to choosing his vocation in life, Stephen apparently has his mother to thank. Having been told by the school career advisor that his options were to either become a Wool Classer, Ships Captain or Accountant, his mother chose the latter, and today he is for all intent and purposes the 'Master and Commander' of the CVW Group.
Starting out with the top tier Chartered Accounting firms in his early days, Stephen quickly left the security of the big partnerships to set up his own practice back in the late 1980's. After several successful years he sold his business and left the golden shores of Australia to set sail to London, where he spent the next decade working in merchant banking. Returning to Perth in 2000 he took a senior position at Deloitte’s before deciding to go back to what he enjoys best, running his own practice.
Stephen enjoys building the range of companies under the CVW Group and managing his boutique accounting practice because they are more dynamic and agile than the bigger players. He says his greatest reward though is working on the strategic aspects of his clients businesses and helping them triple their business revenues.
In his past time Stephen supports his family who are experienced equestrians and sportsmen. With two of his young daughters gaining medals in their Inter School Show Jumping categories and son playing firsts football and firsts Water Polo for his college, they are a high achieving family!
CVW is also an annual sponsor of the Gala Showjumping Weekend at Serpentine Horse & Pony Club which makes for an enjoyable day of relaxing and socialising, for both clients and staff.
